ZCLASSICS CELLIST, MARGARET HODGES TO TOUR EUROPE, MEET BIRTH MOTHER.
NEW YORK, NY. - Dec. 2, 2006 -- ZClassics and Asgard Music Management have announced an upcoming European tour by award-winning recording artist and acclaimed chamber musician, Margaret Hodges accompanied by acclaimed Belgian pianist Ingrid Szalai. Both artists are looking forward to making music in the rich cultural communities of Hungary, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium, but Hodges hopes to find something extra special during her visit to France. Adopted at age 2, Hodges has recently discovered her birth mother alive and well in Paris. A meeting is planned during her upcoming tour. Interestingly, it was music that reunited the relatives. Hodges explains, "My birth mother, a devoted music lover, was given one of my recordings as a gift by a friend. She noticed the resemblance between us and recognized the birth date in my Bio. It was really pretty amazing." After months of e-mailing the two are due to meet at last. Hodges' birth mother will actually attend her Paris recital. Hodges admits, "Yes, I'm a bit nervous. Funny really, I've played in front of thousands of people but this Paris concert will be very different with her in the audience. And the music we are playing is so emotional that I'll probably get emotional too!" In honor of the Paris Concert, Hodges and Ingrid Szalai plan to perform Couperin's La Bandoline, Lalo's Chants Russes, Massanet's Melodie, Faure's Elegy and Saint-Saens Allegro Appassionata. The Paris recital will end the duo's European tour scheduled to begin on January 3. The final recital will take place on February 15, 2007 at the Conservatoire National de Region de Paris. This is a release for a sample artist, created by Jonas Music Services. Margaret Hodges does not really exist. ### |
